Abstract

Soil chemistry is poor due to the repeated use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides on the same field. Many soil quality improvements have been made, such as by using zeolite, or a mixture of zeolite with TiO2, or by using coconut shell charcoal alone. The use of coconut shell charcoal with a mixture of liquid organic fertilizer from Lamtoro has not been studied much. The purpose of the study is to improve the chemical quality of the soil that has often been treated with chemical fertilizers by adding charcoal from coconut shells and lamtoro liquid organic fertilizer to carrot cultivation. There are 2 types of this research, namely laboratory analysis of soil chemical quality analysis and field research for the cultivation of carrot crops. pH measurement using pH meter, determination,P available and K with Olsen method before treatment, and Bray method after treatment. Determination of N by the Kjedahl method. Carrot cultivation with Randomized Design Group (RAK) with 5 treatments and 4 groups. Statistically analyzed with the test F. Soil potassium rose from 0.20 me/100 g,including low to medium i.e. 0.45 me/100 g 1 sentence, P available rose from 13.1 to 19.1 and N from 0.2 to 0.3 , pH rose from 5.2 to 6.1. In general, the quality of the soil becomes better for carrot cultivation where the treatment with charcoal harvesting of 10 ton / ha and the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer (POC) of lamtoro leaves with a concentration of 300 ml / L of water is able to increase the growth and yield of carrot plants.
