Abstract

Furthermore, in the development of this potato peeling machine, human resources play a crucial role. The use of L-shaped iron profiles and stainless steel plates not only reflects structural reliability but also emphasizes a commitment to sustainable and recyclable raw materials, aligning with environmentally friendly principles.Detailed analysis of the machine's shaft made of AISI 1045 steel with a diameter of 20 mm demonstrates a high level of structural reliability. This provides essential strength for efficient and effective potato peeling operations, contributing to the overall success of the machine.This study is specifically focused on designing a potato peeling machine with a 5 kg capacity, integrating L-shaped iron profiles measuring 30x30x3 mm and stainless steel plates. The machine is powered by a 1/4 HP electric motor, with overall dimensions reaching 500 x 500 x 892 mm, including a peeling cylinder with a diameter of 35 cm and a height of 34 cm. The machine's shaft is made of AISI 1045 steel with a diameter of 20 mm, supported by P204 type bearings to provide robust structural support. The results of the frame structure analysis with a total load of 50 kg show maximum and minimum stress values of 69.44 MPa and 2.055e-11 MPa, respectively. Both values are below the yield strength limit of ASTM A36 steel, which is 250 MPa. Maximum and minimum equipment displacements are measured at 0.39076 mm and 1.00e-30 mm, respectively. The safety factor set produces maximum and minimum values of 1.217e+13 and 3.575e+00, exceeding the recommended safety factor range for static loads. In conclusion, the heavy-duty machine frame is deemed safe and suitable for use in the proposed design, providing assurance of safety and optimal performance for users. This machine successfully combines structural reliability with operational efficiency, making it a highly suitable choice for peeling potatoes with a 5 kg capacity.
