Abstract
Fini Hidayah. 2022. "Public Perceptions of the Marriage Development and Preservation Advisory Board (BP4) in Preventing Divorce". Thesis. Bimbingan Konseling Islam, Fakultas Agama Islam, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Barat. This research is backgrounded by phenomena found in the field. This phenomenon is indicated by the public, who are engaged in domestic disputes and want a divorce, do not go to BP4 for mediation. They registered their divorce proceedings directly with the Religious Court without involving BP4 officers. Meanwhile, the purpose of this study is to find out the public's perception of the function of BP4 in reducing divorce. The research method used is a descriptive type quantitative. The subject of this study was the people of Batang Kabung Ganting Village, Padang City. The method of taking the subjects of this study included using random sampling techniques. The instrument used in this study is a perception scale that is compiled and has been tested for validity and reliability. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis. The results of data analysis obtained in this description are 1) In the cognitive aspect, the perception of the people of Batang Kabung Ganting Village, Padang City on the function of BP4 in reducing divorce on average is in the positive category. 2) In the affective aspect, the perception of the people of Batang Kabung Ganting Village, Padang City, on the function of BP4 in reducing divorce is on average in the positive category. 3) In the conative aspect, the perception of the people of Batang Kabung Ganting Village, Padang City on the function of BP4 in reducing divorce, is on average in the positive category. Based on the results of the calculation and the percentage of scores obtained by the three aspects of public perception of the function of BP4 in reducing divorce, there are still some things that are less positive and marriage counseling guidance services need to be carried out to increase public perception of the function of BP4 in reducing divorce.
