Abstract
Indri Mizkazola, 2022. "The Use of Instagram as an Islamic Counseling Medium (content analisys on the @shiftmedia.id) account)". Thesis. Program Studi Bimbingan Konseling Islam, Fakultas Agama Islam, Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Barat This research is backgrounded by the use of Instagram as an Islamic counseling medium on the @shiftmedia.id account. Based on the analysis carried out, it shows that the implementation of Islamic proselytizing and counseling does not only focus on face-to-face meetings, but can be done through social media. Social media has many benefits including getting information, education, entertainment and as a place to open up jobs and marketing. Meanwhile, the purpose of this study is to describe the use of Instagram as an Islamic counseling medium in spreading Islamic information and Islamic education. The research method used is qualitative with content analysis design. The data source in this study is a secondary data source. Data retrieval techniques through documentation and information obtained from written sources or documents. Meanwhile, the data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this study from Islamic information show that Instagram is quite effective for spreading Islamic information. The posts uploaded have Islamic counseling values such as self-control, therapy for health, feeling sympathy and empathy, good ethics and mental therapy. As for Islamic education, Instagram as a supporting medium to provide lessons and teaching to someone. The value of Islamic counseling contained in it is to teach how to be physically and mentally healthy, increase faith and perfect worship to Allah SWT.
