Abstract

The thesis disscussed on analysis on the students’ ability in writing narrative text at SMK Cendana Padang Panjang focused on investigate the students' ability in writing narrative text and to find out students' difficulties in writing a narrative text. Data were collected through writing test and questionnaires. Participants in this research were 14 students class XI majoring in computer network engineering at SMK Cendana Padang Panjang. This research is a qualitative descriptive research . The writing test results showed that students’ writing ability narrative text is good. It was proved from the mean score of writing test in writing narrative text is 76,5.The result of questionnaire showed that students’ got difficulties in lack to know form verb 2. Based on percentage there were no student strongly agreed ,3 (21,43%) students’ agreed, 7 (50%) students’ undecided and 4 (28,57%) students’s disagreed . However, students' ability writing narrative text is good and got difficulties in lack know form verb 2.
